About Yoshidaya

Yoshidaya is an inn with a history of 150 years, passing down the good old traditions of this area of Nara. The calm and tranquil interior of the inn brims with Japanese elegance, and there are reservable private baths that can be enjoyed while taking in the view of the five-story pagoda.
Yoshidaya is situated in a landscape representative of the ancient city of Nara, making it a convenient base for sightseeing, located within 20 minutes walking distance of many world heritage sites including Tōdaiji Temple, Kohfukuji Temple and Kasugataisha Shrine, numerous shrines and temples, and famous scenic spots.

Breakfast is prepared with “Kamado-cooked rice” cooked in the traditional Japanese “Kamado,” a pot over a furnace, with each grain carefully boiled; the more you chew, the more the sweet and savory flavors slowly enhance.

Nara prefecture branded beef, “Yamato Beef”

Safe, quality Japanese black beef, nurtured in a blessed climate and an environment rich in history.
By all means, please enjoy the soft texture and fine taste.

Yamato Beef cuisine

Nara has been famed as a good cattle producing region since the time it was called Yamato. Such was written in the Ten Ox-herding Pictures, depicting good cows, from the late Kamakura period (1185–1333).
Yamato Beef is a type of Japanese black cattle:
@ age 30 months or older,
A: that have been fattened for 14 months or more in Nara Prefecture,
B: that are female heifers (who have never been pregnant), and
C: that are shipped to the Nara Prefecture Meat Distribution Center.
When these four conditions are met, the beef is certified by the Nara Prefecture Yamato Beef Distribution Promotion Council, which is made up of the prefectural government and suppliers.
Raised in a blessed climate, the beef is characterized by its deep red color and refreshing taste.
